Solitary

...Okay, okay, THIS is the last filter experiment I'll be doing for a while. I REALLY PROMISE THIS TIME.

Actually, this picture was really more of an experiment to test the versatility of Photoshop's filters than a real picture--hence the really boring composition and way-too-shineyness, so it may end up being scrapped later. |D Though, I was really impressed by the results--Believe it or not, that background is about 85% filters and other photoshop effects. The only thing I really "drew" with a brush in there is a couple of squiggles on a grey block that would later become the basis for the texture of the ice, the bear's shadow, and the vague shapes of the mountains in the back. The rest is layer upon layer of filter combinations, plus some gradients and stuff. I didn't follow any tutorials or anything, there's no photo under there, just a technique I had discovered a while ago by accident that I wanted to see if I could recreate. xD
As for the polar bear, the basic image was drawn in MsPaint. All of the texture and shading effects? Photoshop filters.

ANYWAY, these little experiments have been really interesting, I'm learning that Photoshop filters go way beyond tacky lens flares...It's all about using them in combination...or just screwing around and acting like you know what you're doing, in my case. <D The only thing I was unhappy with was the reflection, so...I DID WHAT I ALWAYS DO: GAVE UP.
I WOULD MAKE SUCH A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR YOU ALL.

(Also, no this doesn't mean I'm going to become a lazy Photoshop-filter-reliant bum and eventually discover a filter combination to draw an entire picture for me, Oekaki is still my one true love. I just thought this would be...educational.)
